Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling Section (HTMSS), Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking Branch (OCB), Division for Treaty Affairs (DTA), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), in Vienna, Austria.
The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and substantive guidance of the Chief, HTMSS, or designated senior staff, and the overall guidance of the Chief of OCB.

Work Experience A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in crime prevention and criminal justice at national and international levels is required.
Proven experience in the design and delivery of technical assistance and on the development of policy papers and technical assistance tools on transnational organized crime and preferably on trafficking in persons and / or smuggling of migrants is required.
Familiarity with project formulation, implementation and monitoring, and exposure to international development cooperation is highly desirable.
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English and Spanish (oral and written), is required.
Knowledge of French is an advantage. Knowledge of other United Nations official languages (Arabic, Chinese, Russian) is desirable.
