The Core Facility Bioactive Molecules : Screening and Analysis at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) is currently seeking a coordinator of the Metabolomics Unit.
Your tasks :
Establishment and coordination of the BOKU Core Facility Bioactive Molecules : Screening and Analysis
Operational and user management of analytical instruments (LC-(HR)MS / MS, GC-MS)
Coordination and documentation of routine operation in the analytical laboratory, including sample management, analysis, organization of orders
Interaction with customers from public (university) institutions and companies
Networking with Austrian and European Core Facilities
Sample measurements, further development of existing analytical protocols and extension of the range of analytical methods offered by the Core Facility
Data evaluation and preparation of reports as well as customer support
Maintenance and servicing of the Core Facility infrastructure
Training and instruction of Core Facility users (company partners, master and PhD students, technicians)
Participation in and support of teaching, public relations and conferences
Studies in Natural Sciences or Biotechnology with an emphasis on chemical sciences, analytical chemistry and metabolomics
Doctoral studies and PhD in the field of plant metabolomics and mass spectrometry
Sound experience in an analytical chemistry lab : sample preparation, organisation in the laboratory, chromatography and mass spectrometry
Further desirable skills :
Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of mass spectrometry and (statistical) data evaluation for the determination of small molecules
Experience in the field of analytical quality assurance
Experience with training of staff in lab operational skills
Language skills : German and English fluent (both written and spoken)
Excellent MS-Office skills
Independent publication activity in the field of analytical chemistry and metabolomics
Experience in teaching, good presentation skills
Good organisational skills, competence in management
Experience in project management and reporting
Ability to integrate into a team and to lead a working group
Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year) : B1 lit.
