Research and Development (R&D) plays a key role for HOERBIGER Group and its COMPRESSION TECHNOLOGY, ENGINE, and SAFETY divisions (CES).
In particular, focused R&D activities manifest in key product solutions and services provided for customers in the oil & gas industry which ensures long-term market share while allowing room for entering new markets through innovation.
The general trend towards electrification and digitalization of products has compelled HOERBIGER CES to intensify embedded electronic development.
Within the innovative and dynamic Vienna-based R&D team, the new role will support HOERBIGER Wien's long-term strategy of becoming a center of competence in electronics within the Group by accompanying products from concept to phase-out in both technical and commercial aspects.
Furthermore, the new role interfaces with production, quality, purchasing, and engineering in order to ensure sustainable product quality over the entire life cycle.
What are the changes we expect from this role in the next 3 years?
The expected benefits from the new role are twofold : Firstly, the new role supports cross-functional teams in analyzing product issues in the market - particularly in root-cause analysis of both production problems and customer complaints - and in defining and taking corrective action plans if required.
Secondly, the new role ensures sustainable product quality and integrity by optimizing existing product concepts alongside with required tools / methods / development environments, maintaining technical product documentation and design histories, investigating the impact of supplier change and end-of-life notifications on existing products, and by properly managing internal engineering workflows.

The new role shall ensure a smooth transition from product architecting over production and market launch to discontinuation of products.
Furthermore, the new role shall help to further increase customer value by decreasing response time to customer complaints and production issues.
