The Wiring Engineer designs, analyzes and develops engineering solutions that solve the requirements given by customers and internal standards.

In this role you need to perform difficult design assignments requiring initiative, resourcefulness and design experience and provide advice and guidance to engineers, other designers, and drafters.

Key responsibilities :

Define the cable routing and wiring concept by using the rough cabling concepts delivered by the responsible Product Engine.

Execute technical harmonization with suppliers and internal departments.

Define the electrical interfaces with System Engineering and system suppliers in collaboration with the Schematic Lead Engineer.

Revise management of the wiring documentation.

Lead the engineers responsible for the wiring tasks. (Interface between electrical design team and Engineering Project Manager EPM).

Coordinate the integration of wiring, device distribution and the integration of electrical devices in the vehicles (e.g.

cubicles, containers and device racks).

Responsible for the harness definition.

Define and distribute the connectors, terminal strips, and all wiring connections.

Select the appropriate wiring material by using as far as possible the BT standard material.

Define the work packages for external engineering support.

Provide supervision and quality control of external engineering support.

Provide production support during production start-up.

Offer support to Procurement and Quality departments at the acceptance of the EWIS preassembly units at the supplier.

Check and quality control of production- and customer-documentation.

Provide contribution in bids and support of the procurement department with order specifications.

Contribute to requirements management.

Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

7 - 8 years of experience in integration of electrical equipment and wiring of railway vehicles.

Functional leadership skills to coordinate the different electrical design tasks International experience.

Knowledge of platform features and solutions.

Language skills : Advanced / business fluent level of English and German (advantage).

The minimum salary for this position is € 3.133,87 month (14 x) for full-time employment according to the collective bargaining agreement.

Overpayment depends on relevant work experience and qualifications.
