Job Description1. Regional and national Government Affairs : he / she creates solid partnerships with various decision makers within the scope of the job funtion / level (political and administrative regional stakeholders, pharmaceutical services organizations, national and regional committees, working groups in trade associations, patient advocacy groups, universities, etc.

He / she appears as a reliable source of information and knowledge useful for making responsible choices in health policy.

He / she knows and constantly stays abreast of the national and regional legislations, strives to get to know the Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Multiple Sclerosis and other disease / product areas with relevance to BIIB (e.

g. other rare diseases), but also supports Biosimilars. Together with the Head of External Affairs & MAX his / her aim is to include these disease areas within the diseases to be considered as a priority in national and regional health policies.

2. Stakeholder management & insight creation : build / develop relationships and network with key (non-)HCPs stakeholders (decision makers) in each SMA Centre, MS Centre, Managers of neurology departments (incl.

certain KMEs), Hospital Pharmacists, Hospital Financial Manager, Pharmacist-groups, regional sick-funds, and others, according to BIIB stakeholder map to identify business opportunities or issues impacting the potential for BIIB products, to provide the BIIB affiliate with relevant market information to facilitate strategic decision making.

3. Strategic stakeholder targeting : Maps the account decision making process in key accounts, supports development of stakeholder strategy for BIIB priorities and portfolio in close cooperation with Marketing / Sales and Medical teams (strong X-functional way of working).

Prepares and implements Strategic Account and Action plans per account. Support the relevant brand teams with the insights generated from healthcare system.

Develops and executes BIIB value propositions (from market access perspective) to the accounts. Supports Head of External affairs & MAX with business cases and pricing models to support strategic pricing decisions at ECP level.

4. Inclusion of the drugs in the hospital formularies / buying lists : he / she interfaces with all key stakeholders to create awareness about the products already on the market and those in pre-launch, in order to facilitate their availability in hospitals for patient initiation and in-house treatment.

After a careful analysis of the regional and / or hospital health budgeting, he / she takes part in the process in a proactive way, so that the administrative decision makers can be aware of the economic impact of the therapeutic choices.

He / she employs studies of pharmacoeconomics and Health Technology Assessment provided by the Company.QualificationsDegree in economics, law or sciencesGood command of the English languageA minimum of 5 years of experience in Market access or similar position (Field Access or Hospital Key Account Manager) in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industriesSeveral years of stakeholder mgmt experienceKnowledge of pharmaeconomics and of healthcare system and HTA budgetingKnowledge of AT healthcare legislation ans systemAbility to influence and persuade both internal and external stakeholdersInternal and external networking, ability to inspire trustExcellent communication and relation building skillsAbility to proactively face and solve potential or actual problemsResult driven and proactive working styleCo-operation and teamworkProject management, experience in building business casesAbility to deal with complexityPlanning and monitoringAnalytical thinking and accounting skillsSome experience in negotiations at payer-level (retail, hospital)The base pay is composed of a market oriented excess payment and the respective amount according to the Austrian collective agreement.

Additional InformationThe Manager, Market Access aims to ensure access, adoption and recognition of the value of Biogen’s drugs both in trade and in launch phase - at national and regional level and with non-HCP stakeholders (payors, political decision makers etc.

according to stakeholder mapping) For this aim, he / she works on multiple processes supporting decisions on health policy in Biogen’s therapeutic areas of interest through pharmacoeconomic levers, value messaging and public affairs activities.

The creation of solid partnerships - with decision makers at various levels - is the basis for achieving important results in terms of market access and economic sustainability of the best therapies for patients.
