Field Application Scientist Sequencing (m / w / d)
Vienna, Austria, home-office based
The position is field based in Austria (Vienna) with responsibility to cover also Hungarian, Czech and Slovak market.
Main responsibilities as Field Application Scientist (FAS) :
Provide scientific expertise, application support and training to customers on Applied Biosystems capillary electrophoresis sequencing (CE) and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) systems through a variety of interfaces.
This includes in-person, phone and / or email communication.
Perform product demonstrations in the field.
Conduct test procedures to diagnose and resolve product performance problems at installation, including product exchanges, optimization and / or more complex problem solving.
Accompany Sales Representatives on sales calls in customer laboratories to provide technical and applications assistance in response to customer inquiries.
Support conditional sales placements in the field through onsite visits and telephone communication.
Provide feedback on product performance in the field and suggested solutions and customer support regarding product performance problems.
Keep abreast of current and potential activities in the territory such as competitor products and user requirements.
Assist the regional sales team in the development of accounts. Perform technical seminars and presentations that promote the use of the product.
Communicate effectively within team and across departments.
The position is field based in Austria (Vienna) with responsibilities also in Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Your Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) in Molecular Biology, Engineering, Microbiology or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications : PhD. or a PhD. with post-doctoral experience.
Experience / Knowledge
Several years of previous laboratory experience to include expertise in techniques related to Molecular Biology products with related instruments and applications background.
Experiences and knowledge of Applied Biosystems Sanger Sequencing and Next Generation Sequencing Systems preferred.
Knowledge in basic bioinformatics preferred.
Knowledge and expertise in customer facing interactions, e.g. solving technical and workflow related issues, performing troubleshooting and proven a strong customer centric approach
Valid driver's license required.
Fluent English and German required.

Thermo Fisher offers competitive compensation. Due to Austrian law we are obliged to state the minimum gross salary according to legal regulations and for this role this amounts to EUR 38.
000,- gross. Depending on experience and education higher remuneration is possible.
