Within delegated authority, the Chief of Section will be responsible for managing, supervising and carrying-out the work programme of the Section under his / her responsibility.
In particular, the incumbent will perform the following duties :

Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law, preferably with a specialization in international and / or criminal law, business or public administration, is required.
A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible professional experience, including several years at the international level in crime prevention and criminal justice issues, with a focus on action against corruption or closely related issues is required.
Work experience in managing intergovernmental processes and servicing intergovernmental bodies, supporting policy and programme development and providing legislative assistance is required.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise and a competency-based interview.
