The Institute of Pathophysiology and Allergy Research is a vibrant research institution at the Medical University of Vienna and is seeking a Junior Group Leader eager to pursue groundbreaking basic and translational research in the field of immunology / allergology.
We are looking for an outstanding, highly motivated person with a PhD and / or MD degree and a successfully completed post-doctoral training in a relevant area of immunology who intends to establish a competitive independent research group.
Applicants must provide a record of scientific excellence through high-profile publications and acquisition of competitive funding / fellowships.
The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong and exciting research program, preferably with an interest in allergy research.
Previous research in this field is not mandatory. The successful candidate will benefit from the attractive interdisciplinary environment and the close cooperation with various associated research teams, in particular the team of Barbara Bohle, who has a long lasting experience in allergy research as well as a strong translational focus and close cooperations with clinical departments of the General Hospital of Vienna.
In addition, the candidate will be embedded in the multidisciplinary and collaborative environment of the Center for Pathophysiology, Infectiology and Immunology, which provides many opportunities for interaction with other research groups and institutions.
