Payroll Lead, Switzerland and Austria (m,f,d) The AT / CH Payroll Lead will join a regional team and report directly to the EMEA Payroll Lead.

The holder will be responsible for leading the Austria and Switzerland Payroll Team and managing the Payroll function. The main office will be located in Vienna but location can be flexible within the DACH region.

The Payroll Lead will contribute to the definition of a Payroll strategy, supporting the structure of the function and the way Payroll services are delivered across all Austrian and Swiss entities.

  • Furthermore, they will play an important role in providing significant value to the entire organization by ensuring state-of-the-art Payroll processing, operations excellence, regulatory compliance, while acting as a liaison to multiple internal stakeholders as well as HR, Finance & Treasury;
  • particularly on a regional level.For all activities, the Payroll Lead demonstrates a continuous improvement mind-set to have issues solved at root cause as well as experience and a passion for leading a team to successful results with an inclusive team ethic. Responsibilities :

  • Leading and managing a team delivering Payroll work across multiple Austrian & Swiss entities, manage work to set service level agreements and ensure consistent processes across the markets.
  • Working closely with external payroll provider and internal HR teams, you will define and lead consistent and compliant end-to-end delivery of Payroll services at all sites.
  • Ensure accuracy and productivity of the payroll functions including : payroll vendor relations, internal control monitoring, developing and maintaining high quality of efficiency standards
  • Lead the development and implementation of payroll policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Full management of budget and P&L for HR Operations in Austria & Switzerland
  • Partner with HR team to ensure full alignment to priorities and delivery of HR services across the HR portfolio
  • Lead process improvement efforts to standardize Payroll processes across markets, leverage best practices, and reduce complexity
  • Collaborating closely with all relevant parties, i.e. EMEA HR Service Delivery organization, HRBPs and HR Centers of Excellence, etc.
  • Process optimization, automation and continuous improvement Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business or Accounting or another relevant Payroll qualification; in lieu of a degree, the equivalent in experience would be required
  • Previous management experience in a complex multinational business environment, with focus on international payroll for multiple entities.
  • Experience in Service Delivery (HR or Finance), including SLA management, customer management and issue escalation would be of advantage
  • Previous people management experience is required
  • Knowledge of all aspects in Payroll - including equity based compensation, Expats, Commuters and Employee Share Purchase plans
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant labor, social and fiscal legislation (Local)
  • Demonstrated technical expertise on the automated systems and processes in designated areas of responsibility
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills, to balance and prioritize work
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, strong personal integrity
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate relevant information to all levels of the organization
  • Strong listening & comprehension skills
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken), other European languages would be of advantage Austria Only : We offer an attractive salary, outstanding social benefits and an exciting work environment with varied tasks in an international environment.
  • The minimum annual salary for this position is EUR 61.000, - and varies according to the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
