The Department of Landscape, Spatial and Infrastructure Sciences, Institute of Landscape Planning is currently seeking a Postgraduate Research Associate.
Extent of employment : 30 hours per week
Duration of employment : 1st of October 2021, limited to 30th of September 2025
Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year) : B1, € contribution to teaching and research activities at the Institute of Landscape Planning
Teaching courses in the undergraduate and / or graduate programs Landscape Planning and Landscape Architecture in German and / or English
PhD Research : inter- and transdisciplinary research covering at least one of the thematic focus areas : landscape planning, land use, sustainability transitions, property rights, landscape governance, civic engagement
Third-party funded research : supporting the preparation of research proposal and project implementation
Involvement in organizational and administrative tasks within the University’s self-governance
Required skills and qualifications
Diploma degree in landscape planning, landscape ecology, landscape conservation, landscape management, landscape architecture, land-use planning or other equivalent university degree
Good active command of English (in particular writing skills)
Excellent knowledge of inter- and transdisciplinary methods (incl. qualitative / quantitative methods) and an interest in further developing these methodological skills
Desirable skills and qualifications
Strong interest and curiosity in inter- and transdisciplinary research and the motivation to pursue an academic career
Strong interest in academic publishing
Project experience : either in academic or practise related context
Publication experience in English is considered an asset
Good German language skills (active / passive) are an asset; in case of minor German language skills, the willingness to attend language courses to swiftly reach level B2 is expected
