Our new portfolio of 3D Biology instrumentation and markets is looking for an experienced scientist knowledgeable in cell culture & 3D Biology (spheroids & organoids), applications, image acquisition and analysis and good understanding of analysis and instrument control software.

Key Responsibilities :
Understand the needs of customers in 3D Biology markets
Work with senior marketing and engineering teams to define product concepts
Translate project requirements and customer needs into written stories and hardware specs
Create a shared vision of customer acceptance so project teams understand done
Test acceptance criteria and document results for external review
Resolve questions and provide guidance to engineering teams on features, costs, and timelines
Create content and conduct occasional training to commercial teams
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and practices
Seek and incorporate feedback when authoring work products.
Attend regular and periodic engineering team meetings and progress reviews
Attend customer / site visits and some offsite meetings (up to 15% travel)
Person Specification :
The jobholder should possess the qualifications, experience and skills set out below to meet the requirements of the role as well as embrace the Danaher Values :
PhD in Biology, or equivalent, post-doc experience
5+ years of experience in a scientific environment
Experience working successfully in a team environment
Demonstrate strong attention to detail
Ability to communicate clearly and help the team succeed
Additional Considerations :
Familiarity with existing Molecular Devices BioResearch / Imaging products
Experience and skill diagnosing issues with complex integrated software and hardware platforms
Experience working professionally with software engineering teams
Familiarity with software engineering methodologies
Fluent English, written and spoken essential.
Fluent German, written and spoken desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills particularly with people where English is their second language.
Detail oriented ability to develop detailed plans and then execute on those plans.
Priority minded ability to identify and execute on only the most important issues (stay focused).
Ability to work together in a constructive way with peers, subordinates and seniors in anticipating and resolving issues.
Personal attributes :
Able to travel and work away from home nationally and internationally to visit customers and interact throughout Molecular Devices.
The ability to work independently within defined parameters, self-starter.
Flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
Must have flexibility of working hours around worldwide time zones.
Must maintain a valid passport and EU work permit
