An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Medical Liaison to join our dynamic Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region, based in our Vienna office.

You have a scientific background with an interest in research and the motivation to learn about our products, research needs and research opportunities in the region.

While the office is based in Vienna, your duties will extend to the whole region, which will also require regular travel.

The junior level role is responsible for coordinating the research activities in the CEE region, supporting IIR requests, supporting the distributors with research related topics, and supporting a podium presence strategy.

This role is also required to stay up to date on the relevant literature and ongoing studies within Cochlear and be able to share clinical evidence outcomes as requested.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assist in developing the CEE research strategy in close collaboration with all stakeholders
  • Development of partnerships with investigators, opinion leaders and healthcare professionals
  • Set up research profiles of different hospitals in the region
  • Pro)actively engage with medical professionals to assess research needs and demands and support them with their IIR requests

  • Support the distributors with the study requests from the region
  • Administration and follow-up of ongoing projects
  • Stimulate and support podium presence at local and international conferences
  • Stimulate and support publications in local or international journals
  • Scientific, evidence-based communication on our products and services and education of internal and external parties on relevant scientific outcomes
  • Ensure all tasks are carried out to the relevant regional and national standards and current practices and work in compliance with Cochlear policies and procedures.
  • Key requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher within Health Sciences, Communication Sciences and Disorders, general science, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of cochlear implants and / or audiology is desirable but not required

  • At least 2 years working experience in a relevant field, preferably in the medical device industry, research, audiology and / or rehabilitation
  • Fluent English; conversational German or other CEE language is an advantage
  • Scientific interest
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • High personal standards, professionalism and strong ethical principles
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders including clinicians, engineers, scientists, clinical site investigators, global clinical affairs and R&D teams
