Job Responsibilities :
The job holder is the primary IT contact for General Managers and other key business stakeholders in Europe and Asia.
The Head of IT VE establishes close relationships with all stakeholders to gain VE-specific insights to be documented and kept up to date to provide a holistic view of VE’s current IT situation.
In addition, the job holder supports the implementation of VE’s digital agenda aligned with VE’s Head of Business Process Management (BPM) which includes a target picture aligned with the Group IT strategy.
The Head of IT VE manages VE’s IT roadmap on a quarterly basis in the Community of Work (CoW) approach, ensuring that the IT budget includes sufficient funding to deploy strategic / important targets.
Together with the IT Success Manager and Supply IT departments the job holder brings transparency on provided IT services and identifies gaps to improve continuously their quality and perception by the business.
The role owner identifies, addresses and mitigates risks and issues related to VE’s IT.
The Head of IT VE manages and represents the VE’s local IT objectives towards Supply IT, ensuring they are considered in the planning of global projects or initiatives.
He / she ensures that local IT projects are adhering to group standards, are staffed appropriately and receive the required support by the Supply IT organization where applicable.
The job owner works closely with the business to provide transparency on planned projects and exchanges information continuously.
Successfully completed master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or other equivalent disciplines
At least 7 years of experience as IT Manager being responsible for complex IT services or projects in multi-national environments for customers or internal clients
At least 3 years experiences in a matrix organization leadership position and (remote) management of international teams with different solid reporting lines
Very good people management skills
Extensive experience in managing internal and external (virtual) teams
Proven knowledge of service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL, COBIT) ideally ITIL Practitioner certified, ITIL Service Operation and Service Transition certified
Extensive experience in the management of international stakeholders balancing between local objectives and global cost-efficient delivery
Broad understanding of Information Technologies, like cloud sourcing, infrastructure services, network, and workplace as well as application development frameworks (Agile, DevOps)
Fluent German and English language skills
