The Global Pharmaceutical Technology Support (PTS) group (>

100 employees) is the steward and owner of the science and technology and the associated processes for small molecule products in our animal health organization being manufactured by internal sites and external partners.

The global team Product Introduction and Technical Solutions (11 employees based in different sites in Europe) is among others responsible for the introduction of new pharmaceutical products from R&D into a commercial production location.

This team performs and coordinates the necessary steps (such as, but not limited to, scale up, validation, optimization of the process) to launch the product and maintain the product in a robust status.

Furthermore, this team is involved in transfers of commercial products, product and process optimization, changes in packaging materials, API’s or excipients, and investigations.

Tasks and responsibilities

Reporting into the Executive Director Pharmaceutical Technology Support (based in Boxmeer), you are responsible for leading, coaching and supporting a team of highly experienced and motivated professionals who are responsible for different assigned projects, with the focus on transfer of R&D products to a commercial site.

You ensure that pharma process technology projects are carried out with a consistent approach, on a timely basis and in line with our animal health strategy, Global Quality strategy as well as applicable regulatory requirements.

You are responsible to provide the project oversight, budgeting, and resource planning. Furthermore, you are responsible for identifying improvement in the processes to make procedures and products more robust and up to date.

You and your team will facilitate communication and be the interface for manufacturing sites to other global and support departments during the transfers or execution of other above-mentioned projects.

This role demands close collaboration with, in particular, Research & Development, Global Supply Chain, Global Procurement, Global Quality, Global SHE, Regulatory, Site Management, Contract Manufacturing Organization’s and suppliers of equipment and materials.

Your profile

  • Master or PhD degree in Science (Process technology, Pharmaceutical technology, Industrial Chemistry, Food Technology);
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience in a product development, technology or manufacturing position in a Pharmaceutical company;
  • Proven track record of managing and developing highly experienced professionals in a large, complex and international organization;
  • Regulatory background incl. FDA and EMEA requirements and strong knowledge of GMP requirements;
  • Excellent command of the English language and preferably German, Dutch or French;
  • Ability to connect, influence and convince easily within a diversity of cultures and interests, through all levels of the organization, without losing touch with company and department strategy;
  • Willing to travel abroad up to 30% of the time, predominantly in Europe;
  • Living close to Boxmeer (NL) or one of our global manufacturing locations : Unterschleißheim (D) Friesoythe (D), Igoville (FR), or Vienna (AU) or willing to relocate.
