Mission
Is responsible to coordinate Research and Development System Engineers and Active Components Design Engineers to issue deliverables in due time to their respective projects
Guarantees quality, cost and timing of her / his team’ deliverables and actively participate to any risk mitigation during critical period of projects
Manages her / his team to make them evolve into operational excellence (right first time mindset), and develop System skills at Plastic Omnium by anticipating market needs, norms and legislation evolution (ie.
leads the definition of System Architecture and Control)
Define and ensure application of processes and tools related to the System Engineering metier
Coordinates cooperation between System engineering teams with the other departments involved in projects in a transversal manner (SW Team, Mechanical Engineering team, Validation and Calibration, Purchasing, Quality, )
Manages all critical issues arising on projects in support of his team by taking leadership in front of customers (internal and OEM) jointly with the System Engineer and project core teams
Responsibilities & Activities
Is responsible of fulfillment of commitment taken by him+her / his team and must ensure availability of deliverables requested by Plastic Omnium and the New energies Division
Analyzes all relevant OEM specifications, norms, and specific requirements, cascades the consequences to components technical definition and ensure product validation is in accordance with expectations.
Delivers the System Requirements and models according to the requirement management process
Specify and select active components in collaboration with purchasing and quality organizations
Lead the risk analysis (FMEA system, cost evaluation, industrial feasibility, HR skills, regulations / IP etc.)
Contribute to the safety analysis (ISO 26262, Hara, Safety Goals, Technical Safety Requirements, )
Accountable for major issues and sensitive subjects in her / his field stand in operational position whenever needed
Is actively participating to yearly budget elaboration to ensure compatibility of resources with project needs (CAPEX, OPEX, Single Report) and, in this matter, maintain a workload forecast to anticipate critical period and subsequent staffing
Provides all necessary inputs for request of information and request for quotation for System perimeters
Supports control systems predevelopments and quotes for his / her assigned customer & supports R&D projects needs in his / her field of expertise
As manager of his team, he is conducting interviews, annual appraisal interview and define appropriate training plan of her / his team to ensure their professional evolution
Reports monthly team activities through synthesis and KPI updates
Proactive in innovative proposal for KPI evolution, standard processes and tool chain in her / his perimeter
Presents results internally and externally to customers (internal and OEMs); ensures the diffusion of any relevant information within the team and within the company
To reinforce PO leadership position on the market, She / He participates to OEM meetings, Conference and VA / VE workshop with his team to ensure compatibility of change at system level
Challenge his / her team towards excellence by integrating best in class automotive technology
Identify innovative idea and contribute to PO patent portfolio
Participate to benchmark activities to challenge PO product offers
Make system engineering responsible for Business viability analysis
Participate in project design reviews, proposes & validates potential design enhancements and up-grades
Any best practices or issues is systematically capitalized through lessons learned and standardized processes proposal
Provides lesson learned at the end of each phase to improve skills
Contributes to the development of the Controlled System Development Methodology in accordance to INPRO / INPRO-R internal procedures, and adapts the recommended work packages to the A-SPICE development process
Personal Background
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in automotive / aeronautics or train industry, ideally within research or development department
Software : MS Office, Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, ALM suite (Doors / Niagara / Reqtify / Polarion / Papyrus )
Job Technical skills
Experience in Multiphysics System Modelization, Control laws, Electronic Control units (Real Time Operating Systems and / or power electronics), On-board diagnostics and Functional Safety Good knowledge of fuel cell system architectures and operations Demonstrated experience in architecture of complex automotive controlled systems (HW and or SW and or E / E system project management) including Customer Requirement management (Traceability follow-up, FMEA and DVP&R) Knowledge of IATF 16949, ISO 26262, REACH Knowledge of OBDI, OBDII (EOBD, CARB EPA, ) requirements Experience with calibration and validation is a plus Good problem-solving and multi-tasking skills Ability to read engineering document and electronic schematics Excellent team coordination, communication and customer management skills required Good practical knowledge of Microsoft Office Good knowledge of control units, embedded & Real Time Operating Systems, sensors & actuators, automation, fluid & solid mechanics, thermodynamics, Software / system development recommendations (A-Spice) Demonstrated experience in Model Based System Engineering
