we are looking to recruit a flexible and motivated

Project Product Development Manager (m / f).

The Product Development Manager (PDM), has direct responsibility for ensuring the delivery of the specific product development into a specific project.

Main task is the clear translation into an associated set of cross functional activities, that are in turn, delivered in accordance with the requisite quality, time and cost parameters (QTC) from BID to Execution.

Responsible as deputy of PM the PDM will coordinate the different functions contributing to the development (Design Quality, Procurement, OPS, internal Supplier RoQ).

Operating as a key change role in Bombardier’s transformation being to move from a project organization into a product organization, this is a multifaceted role, requiring the post holder to balance a portfolio of activities.

Critical within this is :

  • The clear articulation of work activities in to work packages for multiple phases, between NTP and Readiness for serial production
  • Rigorous QTC focus on all associated activities for the specific product development
  • The creation and management of a multi-functional resource requirements plan, ensuring availability of all skills as required in the various phases (Incorporating robust planning and dynamic resource management)
  • Operating with a continuous improvement ethos, driving optimization of reuse alongside rigorously identifying and delivering cost reduction opportunities in line with the PF roadmap
  • Key responsibilities :

  • This is a high profile, influential role, critical to the successful performance and profitable growth of the Product Family
  • Ensure for product development activities that they are in line with the product concept requirements and the project-specific requirements
  • Translate the Product Family requirements into product development deliverables;
  • Implement a culture of cost management within the team
  • Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering
  • Significant and demonstrable track record of successfully operating as an Engineering PM or PM in a Global organisation, within this, is evidence of having successfully programme managed the associated engineering activities, requiring the integration of complex multi-
  • discipline engineering solutions, into one product. This must include integration of complex hardware and complex software solutions

  • Experience in interpreting project (or concept) contractual requirements - which include the operating / environment conditions for the product to operate as required -
  • and having then translated these requirements into engineering deliverables, meeting QTC expectations.

  • Tangible experience of successfully managing the product engineering risk lifecycle, underpinned by the need to operate within defined QTC standards.
  • The minimum salary for this position is 2967,26 € gross / month (14 x) for full-time employment according to the collective bargaining agreement.

    Overpayment depends on relevant work experience and qualifications.
