Business Development Manager (BDM) is expected to realize Drees & Sommer business goal and secure its future growth and development.

The BDM must understand the local market, local needs, define the best positioning and commercial action plan to implement the business development activities in Austria and surrounding area.

BDM is one of the key people in the unit and needs to negotiate the contract with client and seek for new business partners.

KPI will be assigned to the BDM in terms of proposal submitted, client’s feedback and contract value awarded. BDM will be a part of the local management team and will be reporting to a local Managing Director.

Your tasks

  • Identify and map business strengths and customer needs
  • Identify and increase public and private clients’ base
  • Search business opportunities and conduct market research
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Coordinate with technical teams and take lead in preparing proposals
  • Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with shareholders
  • Follow-up with the project teams to ensure contracts are executed as agreed
  • Gather useful information from customer and competitor
  • Give presentations to prospective clients and internal executive
  • Your profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering / Business related discipline or Equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience with proven track record of achieving company given target
  • Established network (property company, real estate, industry exposure, or alike)
  • Fluent in English and German other language(s) is a plus
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies
  • Experience in Civil Engineering / Construction industry / Real estate / or applicable
  • Problem-solving skills to propose mutually beneficial solutions
  • Ability and willingness to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients if required

    We offer a salary package in line with the market with a corresponding overpayment above the KV minimum as well as a variable, success-oriented salary component.
