Molecular Devices is searching for a Fast Impact Product Manager to join our Strategic Product Management team. Candidate will be responsible for analyzing market research and driving commercial growth for our portfolio of existing products through incremental product improvements.
To accomplish this, the candidate will need to work across functional boundaries with engineering, sales, manufacturing and marketing counterparts.
Position reports to the Strategic Product Manager for our microplate reader portfolio.
Understand markets, competition, and user requirements
Coordinate delivery of sales tools and training as needed to support incremental product (HW & SW) changes, commercial growth and onboarding of new sales associates.
Gather and structure customer feedback on existing products. Build and prioritize pipeline of product improvements, software updates, and cost reduction initiatives.
Manage part numbers and pricing for existing product lines to ensure maximum commercial impact. Maintain pricelist with changes driven through product improvement activities.
Assist with existing product escalations and EOL activities.
Monitor product portfolio performance and devise commercial countermeasures as needed to address gaps.
BS degree in life science or equivalent knowledge gained through work experience
5+ years of experience in a life sciences company
Knowledge of Molecular Devices products is a plus
Lab experience and knowledge of microplate readers and washers preferred
Proven ability to accomplish tasks in a team environment (e.g. : engineering, marketing, manufacturing, technical support), providing day-to-day input where needed to achieve goals.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to articulate and present complex concepts.
Travel of up to 25% both domestically and internationally is expected to meet with global development teams and customers.
