Position description

In our Site in Vienna we are offering the possibility for an internship - Gearbox Engineering (m / f) for students (m / f) with an educational background in mechanical engineering to complete one of the two selected thesis topics.

The target is to develop and write a report about one of selected topics.

Key Tasks

  • Working on diploma thesis with a topic related to one of the following options :
  • Develop an oil flow simulation in gearboxes and set-up the general simulation parameters. The simulation will be proven during real gearbox type test.
  • Investigate an application of special surface coating systems on gear wheels and their long-term benefits and effects.
  • The target is to complete the diploma thesis and to prepare a report that includes theoretical fundaments, calculation results resp.

    measurement data and proposes solution for defined questions.

  • Supporting creating of test specifications, supervision of tests and preparation of test report.
  • Supporting Gearbox and Calculation Engineers in development and design of new drive products
  • Qualifications

  • Student of master studies in mechanical engineering (Technical University / University of Applied Sciences)
  • Basic knowledge of mechanics and gear design
  • Professional use of MS Office, calculation programs like KISSOFT or Matlab, CATIA V5
  • For oil flow simulation thesis : basic knowledge of fluid mechanics, calculation software SimLab and NanofluidX from Altair systems or similar.
  • For coating system thesis : gear calculation (KISSsoft) experience, basic knowledge of materials engineering
  • Outcome-driven, self-dependent and solution-oriented approach to work
  • Communicative personality and team player
  • Flexibility for short term travel (within EU)
  • Fluent German and English in writing and speaking
