Development Manager, Europe

As the Development Manager, Europe you are a vital part of the International team. In this role, you will report to the Director of External Relations and are responsible for managing and building relationships with potential and existing major supporters, collaborating with foundations, and developing ADF International’s reach amongst a dedicated supportive community.

The Development Manager, Europe is the primary representative to promote the ministry to the contacts assigned to him. The Development Manager, Europe will make progress reports and work with appropriate Senior Team Members to report to assigned contacts.

Your Essential Responsibilities :

Build a robust community of major gift supporters in your assigned region, made up of existing and new contacts.

Ensure a year over year increase in funding from these contacts.

Deploy a structured approach to reach new potential major supporters and increase the number of people supporting the ministry in accordance with the department’s objectives.

Collaborate with ADF International development, marketing, communications, operations, and legal teams to accomplish your goals.

Manage all communications efforts with your group of potential and existing supporters, as well as develop new ways of reporting to this group on the highest level of excellence.

Develop the project plan for ADF International development efforts and track progress.

Ensure all projects stay on schedule - production schedules, copy and art review and approval, and content development.

Document and report on project performance and provide solutions for improvements.

Identify complex giving opportunities (Gift Planning) and utilize the proscribed referral process for documenting such opportunities.

Work closely with the ADF International team in order to identify the most appealing aspects of their work around the globe in order to produce effective proposals.

You will be asked to perform related duties or special projects as assigned.

Skills You Need to Succeed :

Knowledge of :

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel)

CRM software such as Salesforce

Demonstrated proficiency in :

Strong project and process management

Organizing and paying attention to detail

German and English (in written and oral form)

Multi-national work environment

Other languages such as French, Spanish, Italian desirable

Ability to :

Work, motivate, and initiate within a team and independently.

Lead concurrent projects of varying size and complexity under deadline.

Work within a multi-lingual, international setting.

Travel more than 50% of the time.

Education and / or Experience :

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, marketing, advertising, or communications preferred

5-10 years of relevant work experience either in fundraising or sales preferred

Recognized project management training and corticated preferred

Work permit for EU citizenship required.
