Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with current and future Opinion Leaders (OLs), Scientific Experts (SE), cooperative study groups and study sites
Supports Therapeutic Area Head & Medical Advisor in developing local medical plans, in line with local and international strategy
Develops and implements medical engagement plans in defined territory and in cooperation with other relevant internal functions
Discusses up-to-date scientific topics, clinical outcomes and patient benefits with OLs, SEs and other relevant stakeholders like hospital pharmacists and payers
Gathers and processes relevant medical insights from the external engagements and other sources
Understands trial and referral networks in given indication or therapy area
Gives clinical and scientific presentations
Implements and facilitates high quality medical and scientific educational programs and advisory boards
Ensures medical society engagement by supporting international and regional congresses
Cooperates with clinical study team in study feasibility and site selection and engagement process in defined territory
Participates in investigator meetings a needed
Supports Amgen Sponsored Trials (ASTs) with scientific discussion and presentations on site
Provides input to the design of local observational research
Supports Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISSs) and other scientific activities
Identifies new research and collaboration opportunities
Delivers internal trainings for selected topics and to relevant audience as needed
Complies with all relevant internal processes as well as internal and external laws and regulations
Qualifications & Competencies
Advanced degree (e.g. PhD, MD) preferred or strong demonstration of equivalent combination of relevant educational and professional training
Minimum 3 years of experience in industry, or a related scientific field in academia
Scientific and medical expertise in the therapeutic area and related indications preferred
Experience with clinical study management, conduct of scientific research and interpretation of scientific results and publications
Solid understanding of the country local health care system
Willingness and proactivity to continuously develop own knowledge and competencies
Strong communication and presentation skills
Willingness to travel locally on regular basis and internationally as needed
Sound project management and IT skills
Fluency in German and English, both in oral and written communication
