Member of Chassis Engineering Delivery Team
Lead the design process from conceptualization through to industrialization, including target definition in line with the set program / vehicle attribute goals.
Lead the integration process of the module, including the packaging work
Support the CAD design process
Expert in CATIA & Parametric Design Principles
Good knowledge of material joining techniques and metallurgy
Contacts and Interfaces

Areas of Responsibility
3D and 2D CAD - Catia
PLM BOM Management - TeamcenterEnsure designs are manufacturing-feasible and optimized to meet weight targets, and can be stamping / forming, castings, forgings assembly.
Collaborate with suppliers to achieve feasible designs to cost and timing targets.
Collaborate with develop world class Chassis solutions with technical specialists of materials, structures, and material joining techniques.
Collaborate with manufacturing / dimensional control engineers on location strategy.
Understanding of all Chassis Attributes and how to achieve their targets.
Releasing of prototype and production parts for vehicle builds.
Production of Assembly Tree and Joining Manuals for Prototype and Production build events.
Supporting Prototype and Production build events at production facilities.
Identification requirements, support of Chassis DVP testing.
Attend weekly Sub-Team Module meetings.
Attend other Chassis / Brakes functional area Sub-Team meetings when required.
Raising and managing of SILS / Issue Sheets to meet the VF design requirements.
Application of VF Design Rules to Chassis development.
Management of Chassis Sub-System BoM including Cost & Weight.
Management of DMU tracker or equivalent Package Issues Tracker.
Support Lead Engineers
Lead other CAD engineers on occasions
Knowledge and Experience
Degree / equivalent or higher in Mechanical / Automotive Engineering.
5 years Automotive Industry Experience. Delivered elements of a Chassis structure and suspension Projects.
Deep CAD experience with knowledge of Catia CAD and Analysis techniques.
Knowledge of materials, forming and joining processes used in Chassis systems
Expert knowledge of CATIA (current user) needed.
Competent with Microsoft Office
Understanding of Automotive OEM systems (CAD, BOMs, Issues and Supplier Management) beneficial.
